A Blessing for Pentecost
Go as far as you dare,
For you cannot go beyond the reach of God.
Give as extravagantly as you like,
For you cannot spend the riches of the God.
Care as lavishly as you are able,
For you cannot exhaust the love of God.
Keep being the best you can be,
Knowing that God is always with you.
Prayer for a new Vicar
O God, you have led your people through many years. Look kindly on us now as we seek a new Vicar for the leadership of this Parish. Give us the discernment of your Spirit to seek diligently for a priest after your own heart: a priest of faith and prayer; a priest of vision, wisdom and sound judgement; a priest with a pastoral heart and atrue love for your people.
And grant that, given your Spirit’s gifts of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, we may so do your will that we continue to proclaim your Gospel by word and by deed. This we ask in Jesus name and in the power of the same Spirit.
