Worship Services
Picture
Sunday, 9am
The primary worship service at Whangarei Anglican is held on Sunday morning at 9am. This worship is a Eucharist, also known as Communion, service and includes the blessing and receiving of bread and wine in remembrance of Christ. We sing, we pray, we hear the scriptures read and explore their meaning together. You are welcome to join us as we gather to thank God every Sunday.

Messy Church
Messy Church is a child, family, noise and mess friendly gathering of people who explore faith and life together through activities, music, kai and relationships. This is a wonderful place to bring little ones who may feel out of place in a more formal worship service, and offers a way of engaging with the story of faith that is fun, exciting and, of course, messy. Messy Church gathers on the first Sunday of the month at 4pm.

Taize
The Taize service is rooted in the monastic life of the Taize community in France. The order is made up of many denominations, and prays for all the world. The Taize service is one of centring and meditation on passages of scripture and the grace of God. You will go home following this time relaxed and peaceful, having dwelt with God . Taize is held in Christ Church on the second Sunday of the month at 6pm.
Evensong
The worship of God in the evening have long been a part of Christian worship, especially among the religious orders and clergy. The service of Evensong, drawn from the Book of Common Prayer, is a much loved celebration of both God and the English Church tradition. Its words, anthems, prayers and essence are truly a gift to all who gather to sing it. Evensong is held on the fourth Sunday of the month at 5pm.
